Inline Measurement Technology
Inline measurement technology is increasingly used and further developed for process monitoring within the production line in the plastic film industry. Measurement data support the machine operator in assessing product quality and help with subsequent analyses to reduce complaints.
Digitalization

Diverse and flexible process integration via suitable interfaces allows measurement data to be networked with the machine's control data, quality data from the laboratory and order data from the ERP system in order to optimize the process procedure.
In the age of Industry 4.0, measurement technology and digitalization are closely linked: only by connecting the data sources do measured values become a basis for decisions – for the machine operator in real time and for process development in retrospect.
Measuring points along the line
From the co-kneader via the 4-roll L-calender to the winder: inline measuring systems capture thickness, surface, gloss and color right where the process creates them – and report deviations before scrap is produced.
